Food can be associated with a lot of great memories. Today at activity days we shared some of our favorite recipes and the memories that go with them.
Sis. Sutherland
I learned a lot about food and cooking from my Grandma Mary. One thing that she was always "whipping up" was her blonde brownies. I don't think it is a recipe she created, but it is one that she mastered. I have wonderful memories of sitting around grandma's kitchen table with friends and family eating these treats.
1 C flour
½ tsp baking powder
1/8 tsp baking soda
½ tsp salt
1/3 c butter
1 c lt brown sugar
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla
chocolate chips
melt butter in sauce pan, remove from heat and add sugar. Beat until cool then add egg and vanilla. Add dry ingredients and mix well. Turn into a greased 9X9 pan. Sprinkle chocolate chips over top.
Bake at 350 for 20-25 min.
